Freezing rain is expected or occurring.
Freezing rain continues eastwards along the Trans-Canada Highway corridor with most areas seeing 1 to 2 hours of freezing rain mixed with snow at times before tapering off.
Liquid accumulations of 0.5 to 2 mm are likely, with variable amounts of that contributing to ice accumulation based on location and pre-existing surface treatments.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
