Manitoba
Area(s): Southern
Timing: Friday afternoon and evening
Threats: Locally heavy downpours, gusty winds, pea to dime sized hail
A trough of low pressure may trigger a few scattered severe thunderstorms over southwest Manitoba on Friday afternoon. The main threats from these thunderstorms will be heavy downpours and strong winds, although small hail is also possible. Further east, a generally unstable air mass may lead to thunderstorm development in the afternoon and early evening.
A cluster of storms is set to erupt in southwestern Manitoba this afternoon, some of which should be strong to possibly severe. Areas around Brandon to Portage La Prairie could see some storms later today.
