Warnings
4:33 AM CST Wednesday 08 January 2020 Snowfall warning in effect for areas in red
Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected.
A trough of low pressure tracking eastward across the prairies will spread snow across southern Manitoba today and tonight. The highest snowfall amounts are expected along and north of the Trans Canada highway and generally south of and east to west line through Gimli. Snowfall totals in the area are expected to be in the 10 to 15 cm range. Snow will taper off over western areas overnight and eastern areas Thursday morning.
In addition to the snow, strong southeasterly winds gusting to 60 km/h will create reduced visibilities in blowing snow. Winds will increase over western Manitoba later this morning and eastern Manitoba later this afternoon then diminish throughout the region overnight.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
