Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected. An area of moderate snowfall has spread into southwestern Manitoba this afternoon. Brandon has been reporting reduced visibilities in moderate snow. Webcams for Brandon and Pilot Mound regions are showing rapidly accumulating snow, and RADAR echoes are indicating moderate snow will continue to fall into the evening, therefore these regions have been added to the snowfall warning.
This area of snow will continue to intensify and move into eastern Manitoba this evening. Snowfall amounts 10 to 15 cm can be expected with this system. The snow will taper off from west to east Monday morning. In addition to the snow, strong southerly winds gusting up to 60 km/h will develop by evening and combined with the falling snow, poor visibilities can be expected in blowing snow tonight.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.
