10:28 AM CDT Saturday 24 August 2019 Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for areas in yellow
Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and torrential rain.
Thunderstorms will develop today across portions of southeastern Saskatchewan, southwestern Manitoba, and the Manitoba Interlake. Many of these thunderstorms will form in slow-moving lines capable of producing torrential rainfall.
Some of these thunderstorms may also be capable of producing severe hail.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
