Intense storms developing SK/MB border

Intense supercells have developed in southeastern Saskatchewan and will move into southwestern Manitoba in the next hour. These should continue to intensify as they move east. A tornado threat will continue to exist through the evening as the storms remain isolated. In the short term, the storm near Gainsborough, SK moving east will need to be watched.

3:47 PM CST Saturday 29 June 2019 Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for areas in red:


At 3:47 p.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to toonie size hail and heavy rain.

Active warnings at 4:50pm CDT

An intense thunderstorm has moved out of North Dakota and through the Estevan area. Golfball-sized hail and locally heavy downpours were reported in the Estevan area. This thunderstorm continues to track eastward along the International Boundary toward Carnduff. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.
