A bitterly cold arctic air mass will remain entrenched over northern Manitoba for the next few days. Extreme wind chills of minus 45 will return to northern Manitoba tonight. On Sunday night the extreme cold will spread southward into southern Manitoba. Manitoba will return to warmer temperatures on Wednesday as a warm front pushes in from the west. Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. If it's too cold for you to stay outside, it's too cold for your pet to stay outside. Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
