A period of very cold wind chills is expected. Extreme wind chill values near -40 are expected to redevelop for southern Manitoba this evening as cold arctic air settles in over the province. These wind chill values in most areas should moderate tomorrow afternoon. Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill. Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.

3:23 PM CST Thursday 24 January 2019 Extreme Cold Warning in effect for (northern Manitoba):
A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills is expected. Extreme wind chill values of -45 to -50 continue over northern Manitoba. Cold air will remain anchored over the region for the coming days as a ridge of high pressure settles in. Therefore, these wind chill values are expected to persist for the remainder of the week, the weekend, and into next week.
Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill. Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
